A premium Maduro Torpedo cigar that looks as good as it tastes. La Caya Brasil Torpedo is hand made in the Dominican Republic. It's not the cheaper La Caya Brasil versions you see on other web sites or on store shelves. This is the real thing. The opulent La Caya Brasil Torpedo that's hand made with ultra-premium tobacco, are individually wrapped in cedar tubes and are aged in their deluxe cedar humidor box for over 3 years.

The Cuban-seed Dominican Piloto and Nicaraguan Habano long-fillers are blended and wrapped in a Criollo 98 tobacco binder. It's all enveloped in an oily and aromatic Brazilian Arapiraca Maduro wrapper. This rich combination produces a smooth and creamy medium-bodied taste with waves of bittersweet chocolate, woods and coffee. Torpedo are 6 inches long and have a 54 ring gauge. 24 Torpedos are individually wrapped in cedar tubes and hand packed in a cedar box.

La Caya has been making cigars in the Cibao tobacco region of the Dominican Republic since 1997. While they're a well known cigar maker in the industry, they're not well known to cigar smokers. That's because they usually make cigars for other cigar companies, under the company's own brands. Many of their hand made cigars have earned top ratings and praise. A few years ago they decided to take their best tobacco and make a limited amount of ultra-premium cigars under their own La Caya brand.

Only a few boxes made it out to the stores and a limited group of cigar aficionados. Even Smoke Magazine loved these, giving them a 92 rating. After these cigars were extensively aged we bought their whole inventory. We got a good deal and are passing the saving on to you.

    People had rrouble with this cigar's wrapper being so brittle, so when I received my box of them, I immediately put them in my humidor and set it on 85, the usual setting is 75. After a week, I smoked one. All I can say is it was superb! The taste was fine and the draw was perfect. No doubt that this cigar could set standards in the cigar industry as it is a sturdy cigar that burns evenly and renders a wonderful smoking experienc

    Ususal good service from Cubancrafters. I always order by mail w/ a money order and still rec'd in <10 days. Beautifully wrapped in cello/cedar. 1st smoke was pleasant, medium strong w/ notes of coffee, leather, and chocolate. Will let the remainder improve in the humi for a month, then enjoy on my annual moose hunt.

    Read other reviews so when I received them I put them in my humidor for about a week. Wow is all I can say about the taste and burn. Taste has chocolate and coffee. I'll buy them again when I run out. Maybe even when I'm close to running out. By the way, the presentation is fabulous.

  • Wrapper/ring sticker problem

    Good cigar from start to end, but...

    One problem. The ring sticker has so much glue, that when you want to discard it, it takes a good chunk of the wrapper with it, rendering that last part of the cigar unusable.

    They should copy AURORA in this respect. Easy to discard that ring sticker without damaging the cigar.

    As Bad Rappers said, the wrapper is brittle. Probably some time in the humidor would help. I will make them spend one or two months before smoking other
